Valerie is a current social work master’s student at Aurora University committed to providing a compassionate, supportive environment for individuals on their journey to healing and personal growth. She works to empower you in a safe, non-judgmental space, giving you hope while developing healthy coping strategies and setting goals for the future. Her background and passion in life have been to keep people safe and help those in need.
She has worked in different environments and communities, such as an elementary school setting and the veteran homeless population. She is also an Army veteran with 11 years of experience as a first responder. “I witnessed the profound impact of trauma and the rise of mental health disorders, which motivated me to choose to enter this healing profession.”
Valerie’s experience spans working with adults, adolescents, children, and veterans dealing with a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, and trauma. Her philosophy centers on the belief that, while we cannot control or predict our life events, we can grow and develop resilience even in the face of adversity.
Valerie loves to bake with her two kids and is learning to train their new dog. She also practices yoga, meditation, and prayer to slow down and reset.
