Haven Winter

Licensed Social Worker

Currently accepting new patients!

Offers in-person and Telehealth services.

Haven enjoys and has experience working with all individuals, from kids and teens to adults of all ages. One of his passions includes the LGBTQ community, where he provides a positive and affirming environment for exploring identities and developing a strong sense of self. He also enjoys and has experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and those who need help developing communication and interpersonal skills.

He strives to bring humor, warmth, curiosity, and care to each session. He believes in the importance of a collaborative approach to treatment and that to truly know and help someone, you must understand where they came from, their journey, and the context in which they live. You are the expert on your own life!

Haven's approach is to identify existing strengths and skills and create a plan to utilize them to become your best self while learning new skills along the way! He focuses on assisting clients in setting attainable goals, improving communication, and learning skills to manage symptoms and decrease behaviors that may be harmful. Haven uses aspects of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) when appropriate for a client’s situation. He believes that identifying negative beliefs, ways of thinking, and patterns of behavior that prevent someone from being where they want to be is an essential part of therapy.

Haven enjoys hiking with his husband and their dog in his free time, having board game nights with friends, and attempting new recipes.
